Browncoat Cruise

In a way, this was Flanvention III, but this time on the High Seas. Traveling from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, and being stuck several miles off of Ensanada, it was a five day floating Firefly. It included Michael Fairman, Ron Glass and Mr. Woodward again.

The Good Ship Elation This was my first cruise anywhere. It was a pretty good bargain, actually. It was also the first time I traveled well into Mexico	Check-In Where the big group of Browncoats stopped first. This event was the first time I had a passport. It was barely used, actually.	Two of the lucky Browncoats They went to the bar, which was already in Christmas mode, including a piano player with a Santa hat.

They also played a game of "You May Be A Browncoat if.." Some answers included telling people if they didn't shut off their cell phones at a theater, they'd go to a special Hell (of course), or having a car named Zoe.

It's Santa Woodward. He wore this for a Secret Santa event on the cruise.	Off to Cabo I just took a tour of the coat along Cabo, although I should have tried other things. This was one of the tender boats used for the cruise.	How Cruise Lines Make Their Money Offering nice deals is a start. Special Guests Get Together This is where fans first learned of "The Shepherd's Tale", which would reveal Book's real story. Fairman had an interesting opinion about what Niska was really like, how he developed the accent, and why he loves the fans. Nectar Rose talked about working with Christopher Walken for a movie. Woodward talked about he may be a "cooler" for Whedon shows, since he appeared in the last seasons of Buffy, Angel and Firefly.	Fairman Dances a Jig He also talked more about Niska, and how he likes to give pain, discomfort, almost to the point that it's almost sensual to him. Also, Woodward had a lot of praise for Dwayne Johnson as an actor, based on Southland Tales, Ron talked about his days in Barney Miller. Nectar, of course, danced the robot.	Here we go again Two years after a Firefly convention featured a sudden wedding proposal, it happened again. Ron Glass talked to Jeremy Neish, co-organizer of the cruise and also behind the Done the Impossible documentary. Jeremy said to Ron, "Yes, grandpa?" (That's from the pilot) That got a big laugh, and Ron reminded him he never got married...then asked Jeremy if he ever got married. Well, he's about to: proposing to Kelly, his girlfriend.

There's nothing tougher than being stuck with 1700 pesos, and nowhere to spend them.	So, what's on the schedule? Final Karaoke The organizers announced the cruise was a big success. A silent auction earned 1400 dollars for the Wooten Foundation, and everyone got a signed poster	One last song It wasn't "Take the Sky", although that was sung that night.
